Yesterday marked the end of the 11th edition of the Al Este Film Festival Peru. The winners of this online edition were announced during the closing ceremony.
Two films have been chosen this year for the award for Best Film in the Official Competition. The big winners are the polish animated film Kill It and Leave This Town, directed by Mariusz Wilczyński, and The Earth is Blue as an Orange, directed by Iryna Tsilyk, which was also awarded a Special Mention in Zurich Film Festival's Documentary Competition.
Bryan Urrunaga's La Celebración won the award for Best Short Film, while Paqarinanchismanta huk qillqa, directed by Jorge Castro, and Materia/l encontrado y/o idea de una casa, directed by Isaac Ernesto Ruiz, both took home the award for Best Experimental Short Film. Two People's Choice Awards were awarded to Cines de Video and Mare, respectively directed by Wari Gálvez Rivas and Swiss director Andrea Štaka.
