Cannes 2022: 6 films to bet on

The mystery still hovers around the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Before tomorrow's press conference, Moonday couldn't resist making its own predictions. The bets are open!

6. Other People's Children

A film by Rebecca Zlotowski starring Virginie Efira and Roschdy Zem, but also Chiara Mastroianni (On a Magical Night) and Victor Lefebvre (Haute Couture). The director's fifth feature is produced by Les Films Velvet and distributed in France by Ad Vitam. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 21.

5. Killers of the flower Moon

Martin Scorcesse has reunited with Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert de Niro for his next film currently in post-production and produced by  Paramount Pictures and Appian Way (Distribution : Paramount Pictures (US),GEM Entertainement)

The true story of the murders of several members of the Osage Indian tribe in Oklahoma, murdered after finding oil on their land in the 1920s. The FBI leads the investigation.

4. Don't worry Darling

An ambitious film by Olivia Wilde starring Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Vertigo Entertainment and New Line Cinema. The release of this psychological thriller made in America is already scheduled for September 2022 in a dozen territories around the world. 

A 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community begins to worry that her glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets.

3. L'immensità

Penelope Cruz stars in the film by Emanuele Crialese, previously acclaimed for Respiro.  It is an intimate portrait of a family in the 1970s, depicting Italian society at a turning point in its history. This French-Italian co-production is represented internationally by Pathé.

2. Blonde

Will Andrew Dominik's highly anticipated film starring Adrien Brody and Ana De Armas be part of the selection? Thierry Frémaux has in any case described the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates as "magnificent". The film produced by Plan B Entertainement and distributed by Netflix US currently has no specific release date.

A fictionalized chronicle of the life of Marilyn Monroe.

1. Triangle of sadness

After the success of The Square awarded in 2017, we were already hoping to see Triangle of sadness on the Croisette last July. Will this year be the right one for Swedish director Ruben Östlund?  Produced by Imperative Entertainment, Societe Parisienne De Production, Sovereign Films, Arte, Heretic Productions, BBC Films, Piano and 30WEST.

The story of two models approaching the twilight of their careers, looking for a quiet exit from the fashion world.
