Since 2003, Berlinale Talents has grown to become a festival within the larger festival. This annual summit and development programme of the Berlin International Film Festival explores the how and why of movie making and offers featuring talks, workshops, networking events and screenings for film professionals. Just as the European Film Market (EFM)* that hosts it, Berlinale Talents programme will take place virtually in Berlin from the 1st to the 5th of March.
Sarah Gavron’s Rocks, Remi Weekes’ His House and Florian Zeller's The Father were the leaders at the 2021 British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) with five, four and three awards respectively. The ceremony was hosted virtually by actor Tom Felton (Harry Potter series, Risen, Braking for Whales...) live from Wales, where he is filming Save the Cinema by Sara Sugarman.

From the 28th of January to the 3rd of February 2021, the Sundance Film Festival will be held online. In the programme: seven days of premieres, artist talks and exhibitions. The Festival will also connect with independent cinema communities across the U.S. and abroad to safely host in-person events.
ALICE Interreg (Animation League for Increase Collaboration in Europe) explores opportunities for interregional collaborations in the European animation sector to stimulate the sector's potential for growth and innovation and promote the development of a major and pan-European industry. This project brings together six European partners, including film funds, unions and regional or international institutions: Wallimage (Belgium), Pictanovo (France), PROA (Spain), the Rzeszow Regional Development Agency (Poland), the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) and the Puglia Region (Italy).
